Accompanying and complementing the main premise of Sharjah Biennial 10, Plot for a Biennial explores the concept of a ‘conversation’ through printed matter. Participating artists were asked to present a conversation with one or more interlocutors, living or dead, imaginary or real. Together, the catalogue includes a series of spoken, recorded, transcribed, written, emailed, edited and translated conversations and interviews.

The catalogue also includes previously existing and newly commissioned essays, excerpts, maps, curatorial and editorial missives, artists’ statements and manifestos. They weave together actors, players, plotters and their work for this Biennial. This bilingual publication is sectioned by the geographies that reference the location of artworks throughout the venues in Sharjah.
